Phasor Simulator for Operator Training (PSOT) is phasor based training simulator developed to train operators on the use of synchrophasor technology in real-time operations. PSOT shall facilitate familiarity and acceptance of synchrophasor technologies in control rooms by providing the training that the operators require in using synchrophasor technology. Use of technologies and tools in control rooms enable operators to learn about the technology and how to make use of it in a variety of real life real-time situations.
1. Industry standard Power System Simulation Tools to perform event simulations using dynamic models and build a library of system events
2. RTDMS is used for Visualization to train operators on
3. Event Streamer & Manager (ESM)
4. enhanced Phasor Data Concentrator (ePDC)
Events are stored in an event library prior to training session. These events may be simulated events from simulation tools like PSS\E, GE PSLF, TSAT etc. or are actual events recorded using synchrophasor data. The library includes separate files for events and event mitigation options that can be used in operator training.
Real-time simulators are used to simulate events in real-time and enable operators/instructors to take actions in real-time to understand effectiveness of actions.
