enhanced Phasor Data Concentrator

ePDC™ is the next generation technology for Phasor Data Concentrators (PDCs) to time synchronize high resolution phasor data for use by synchrophasor applications. Phasor Data Concentrators (PDCs) are devices which aggregate and time synchronize (or time align) phasor data streamed from Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) from across the grid. A PDC is a critical link be-tween the PMUs which collect the phasor data and the synchrophasor applications which use the data. ePDC is designed to accept data from PMUs and PDCs, time-synchronize all the inputs, and provide multiple time-synchronized outputs for synchrophasor applications. The ePDC also accepts data from other PDCs as inputs.


The enhanced substation Phasor Data Concentrator (eSPDC) is the same advanced technology made available on a hardened platform for deployment in substations. The eSPDC can be deployed on any substation ready computer.
